The New York Times Has Continued Its 64-year Tradition Of Endorsing Democratic Presidential Candidates By Backing Vice President Kamala Harris.

In an editorial titled “The Only Patriotic Choice for President,” the editorial board wrote, “Kamala Harris is the only choice.”

Emphasizing the importance of leadership character, the editorial pointed to Donald Trump’s tenure as revealing a lack of critical presidential qualities such as wisdom, honesty, empathy, and discipline. His multiple legal challenges and chaotic governance raised serious doubts about his ability to lead effectively.

“This unequivocal, dispiriting truth — Donald Trump is not fit to be president — should be enough for any voter who cares about the health of our country and the stability of our democracy to deny him re-election,” the board asserted.

The Times further stated, “For this reason, regardless of any political disagreements voters might have with her, Kamala Harris is the only patriotic choice for president.”

As the 2024 election draws near, the paper highlights Harris’s proven track record of competence, care, and commitment to democratic values. While acknowledging that no candidate is perfect, the editorial praised her for offering solutions on critical issues like healthcare, climate change, and global alliances, contrasting them with Trump’s disregard for the rule of law and democratic norms.

Ultimately, the stakes are high, and The Times concluded that Kamala Harris is the candidate who embodies the leadership qualities necessary to ensure a united and prosperous future for America.
