The poll indicates that 51% of likely voters support Alsobrooks, currently the Prince George’s County Executive, while 40% back Hogan.
Vice President Kamala Harris remains highly popular in the state, with 63% support compared to 31% for former President Donald Trump, which may boost Alsobrooks’ prospects. Despite Hogan’s strong appeal as a two-term Republican governor, Republicans have been hoping for an upset.
The poll’s results align closely with another survey from The Hill/DC News Now/Emerson College, where Alsobrooks garnered 49% compared to Hogan’s 42%. According to a polling average from The Hill/Decision Desk HQ, Alsobrooks leads with 49.9% to Hogan’s 40.5%.
The Post-UMD poll surveyed 1,012 registered voters between September 19 and 23, with a margin of error of ±3.5 percentage points.
