Trump Ramps Up Immigration Rhetoric in Pennsylvania Rally, Aiming to Energize Core Voters.

During his fourth campaign stop in Pennsylvania this month, Donald Trump delivered a fiery speech on immigration, portraying undocumented immigrants as a primary threat. In his nearly two-hour address in Erie, Trump repeatedly labeled certain immigrants as “vicious” and cited several violent incidents despite studies showing undocumented immigrants do not commit crimes at higher rates than U.S. citizens.

With Election Day approaching on November 5, Trump focuses less on swaying undecided voters and more on energizing his base. Immigration, which Trump views as a winning issue, featured prominently in his speech, with frequent references to violent crimes committed by undocumented individuals.

Though the speech lacked new policy proposals, Trump’s rhetoric was striking, including references to extreme acts of violence and suggestions of using aggressive law enforcement tactics. His rally followed another event in Erie held by his running mate, Senator JD Vance, as the Trump campaign continues to target the battleground state of Pennsylvania.

Notably absent from Trump’s speech were some of the more controversial, debunked claims he has made in the past regarding immigrant communities, such as those about Haitian immigrants in Ohio. However, he briefly mentioned Charleroi, PA, alluding to the local community’s challenges.

Trump’s campaign in Pennsylvania remains a crucial part of his strategy to secure the state, where immigration and economic issues are central to voter concerns.
